Overview
Industrial and power facilities concentrate extreme static and dynamic loads onto small footprints, with settlement tolerances measured in millimetres for turbines and process equipment. Horema investigated and quality-assured foundations for the 1,200 MW Al Koraimat power station, the Rosetta Sugar Refinery and petrochemical plants in Amreya.
At the Midor refinery our role extended into continuous QA/QC, verifying concrete, aggregates and compacted fill against specification throughout construction using certified laboratories and calibrated instruments.
Chemical testing of soils and groundwater underpinned durability specifications for buried structures in aggressive industrial environments.
